ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE WELCOME REVEREND ALEX WATLINGTON TO THE PULPIT THIS SUNDAY. Thanks to Alex, the RUF campus minister at Penn State, for preaching during our Sunday morning worship services on January 29.

HOUSING NEEDED FOR CCO MINISTRY INTERNS: The CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach, www.ccojubilee.org) is looking to place three Interns in State College from July 2012 until May 2013. In order for the CCO to make these internships happen we are looking to provide housing to the interns at no cost. We are looking for families, couples, or individuals to provide housing for them from July through May. If you are interested in providing housing please contact Bill Saxton (international students) at 814-404-6763 or Will Gigante (athletes) at 814-574-9758. Thank you for considering helping in "transforming students to transform the world."

JOIN THE MEN'S MINISTRY: Oakwood's Men's Ministry will begin a new study on Tuesday, January 31. Two groups will meet at the church; the first group will meet from 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM, and the second group will meet from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The study will focus on Character Qualities of Christian Men, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-13. This is a great time to connect with our growing group of men - we encourage you to bring a friend. Contact Mark Read, mrr180@psu.edu, Jeremy Amaismeier amaismeierj@gmail.com or Ron Nargi ron@gcolony.com if you have questions.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING SCHEDULED: Oakwood's Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 11, with a congregational meal beginning at 6:00 PM and the meeting to follow at 7:00 PM. Please mark this important date on your calendar!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Looking for opportunities to serve the church, become more involved and meet other members? Then please volunteer to serve in the nursery, as a greeter, usher or even help in Stepping Stones. We need help in all these ministries, especially during the second service. If you can help or would like to find out more information, please contact Linda Bonness at oakwoodpca@yahoo.com. You will be glad you did!

DAN KIEHL EXAMINED AND APPROVED: The Session is pleased to announce that Rev. Kiehl was examined and approved by the CIE (Candidates, Interns & Examinations) Committee on Tuesday, January 24. Dan will now be presented to our Presbytery (Susquehanna Valley Presbytery) on Saturday, February 18. Please continue to pray for Dan and his family as they prepare for the move to State College and the ministry at Oakwood.

OH JOY! IT'S A BOY! A baby shower brunch honoring Amanda Parks will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 10:30 AM, at the home of Becki Watlington (116 Boalsburg Road). If you would like to bring food or contribute to the group gift please contact Becki at 814-861-3663 or Becki_Ballard@hotmail.com.
