ANNOUNCEMENTS

BRANCHING OUT, OAKWOOD'S LADIES' BIBLE STUDY, will begin a new study on the books of First and Second Thessalonians on Wednesday, February 10 here at Oakwood. The study runs from 9:30 - 11:15 AM and childcare is available for children ages 0-5. All women are welcome. To register, please contact Amy Rothrock at 234-8301 or amyrothrock@verizon.net. VALENTINE'S DESSERT: On February 13, our church, along with three other area churches, is co-sponsoring a Valentine's Dessert which will be held at Oakwood. Dessert will be served from 7:00 - 7:30 PM, followed with a talk on marriage by Jerry and Ann O'Neill. Jerry is president of the Reformed Presbyterian Seminary in Pittsburgh. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this couples' event. Sign-up today in the foyer. Guests are welcome and seating is limited.

PHIL KEAGGY CONCERT: Phil Keaggy will give a benefit concert on Saturday, February 27th at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church in Quarryville to benefit the MTW Church Renewal through Arts Ministry project in Dublin, Ireland in which Scott and Lindsay Nimmon are participating as long term missionaries. For those of you who aren't familiar with Phil Keaggy, he is a well-known Christian musician with a 30+ year career who has recorded over 50 solo albums, both instrumental and vocal. He is an extremely gifted musician and is considered one of the most sought after studio guitarists. This is a great way to enjoy an evening of quality Christian music and help support Scott and Lindsay at the same time. Get your tickets early before they are sold out! HUMILITY IN ACTION: The 24th Annual Mountaintop conference for Men and Women will be held on March 5-7, 2010 at the Wilson Lodge, Oblebay, Wheeling WV. Jerry Bridges will be the featured speaker. He has authored many books including The Pursuit of Holiness, The Discipline of Grace, Transforming Grace, Trusting God, The Joy Of Fearing God and Respectable Sins. Jerry's aim is to teach others how they can know and understand God in a deep and meaningful way, and how that knowledge can transform their lives. BABY BOTTLE BLESSINGS FOR A WOMAN'S CONCERN: We will be collecting donations for A Woman's Concern through their Baby Bottle Blessings collection. Baby bottles are available in the narthex. Please take them, fill them with cash, change, checks (payable to "A Woman's Concern") and return them back to the container in the narthex. We will be collecting donations through the end of February. Questions, contact Ann Johnstonbaugh (234-2240). This is one of the most important collections for A Woman's Concern. Thank you for your support.

SHORT-TERM MISSIONS TRIP TO FAIRMOUNT, WV: The dates for the West Virginia Missions trip will be June 19-26, 2010. If you are interested in joining our team please contact Ann and Dan Johnstonbaugh (maj03@hotmail.com or 234-2204).

COVENANT COLLEGE PREVIEW WEEKENDS: Preview Weekends are opportunities for participants to explore the Covenant College campus. Students spend two nights in the dorms with current students, sit in on classes, worship in the chapel, tour the campus, audition for music scholarships and much more. The cost is $40 per student and the weekends are Oct. 1-3, 2009 and April 15-17, 2010.
